An African Answer acclaimed at the Centre for International Intervention, UK

The psychological effects of drone strikes in Pakistan; local attitudes to the United Nations intervention in southern Lebanon, and the social media campaign 'Bring Back our Girls' in Nigeria, were among subjects explored at a conference entitled 'Narratives of Intervention: Reflections from North and South', which took place at the Centre for International Intervention,University of Surrey, from 22-23 July.

The films An African Answer [1], Two Years Later and In Search of Peace in Chad, made by IofC's For the Love of Tomorrow Films, were screened to all the participants at the conference.

Sir Mike Aaronson, Director of the Centre for International Intervention, moderated a Question and Answer session with the director of the films, Dr Alan Channer. Discussion ranged from the value of the South to South (Nigeria to Kenya) intervention depicted in the film; the contribution of the film An African Answer to scaling-up peacebuilding in Kenya, and the challenge of synchronising high-level and grassroots mediation processes.

Sir Mike Aaronson concluded the occasion with his gratitude for the inspiration which the films provide.
