East Africa Youth Conference Gates open for 2nd Eastern Africa Youth conference on 7-12 February, 2012 in Kampala Uganda.

Africa is celebrating the birth of its newest state – South Sudan. It couldn’t have come at a better time than when the planning for the 2nd Eastern Africa Youth Conference is in top gear! The conference will run on 7-12, February, 2012 in Kampala, Uganda with the theme “Youths for Peace: Together Making it Happen.” Interested participants must be 18-35 years of age.

The conference will seek to address the role of nonviolence, and other significant components of creating and attaining cultures of peace. The actual conference fee per delegate will be Uganda shillings (Ush) 600,000 or USD 220; note that this fee is just for meals and accommodation and the planning team is working hard to raise money to cover all the administration costs. Every delegate will be expected to pay a commitment fee of Ush. 150,000 or USD 60 before 31 October 31. Partial scholarships can be accessed by contacting the organizing team.

Interested participants should send their application letter to East Africa Youth Conference citing their academic qualifications, age and reasons why they should be considered for the conference.
