Portia MosiaPortia Mosia, who has been running Peace Circle workshops together with Jackie Euvrard and others throughout this past year in South Africa, writes:

“I am so grateful for the opportunity to follow my conviction through working with the Peace Circles programme. It has been an uplifting journey for my own healing after an awful experience that I had to overcome. I have learnt that connection with God brings a right sense of direction. I am now able to make decisions measuring with the values I have learnt. Having the opportunity to meet other women has given me a chance to look back and see how far I have come with my own healing process. I have learnt tolerance, patience and self control and most of all how to express myself in a polite manner. Team work has also been an important part in this experience. I have been able to understand other cultures and open up to new experiences and my assumptions were laid to rest.

“My challenges were that I had to learn discipline for my quiet times as it was a new concept for me. I have discovered how to follow my thoughts without fearing I might be wrong. I felt I had to adapt to certain things like the western way of doing things but that did not mean I had to loose my own culture. The support system from the Initiative of Change (IofC) team has meant so much to me.

“I strongly feel that all I have been involved with this past year was in God's purpose. I am still willing to continue to work with the Peace Circles for this coming year as I still have the conviction to make a difference in the community.”
