Kipcherere village one of the remotest areas of Baringo County, hosted 21 woman on the 2-3 March 2016 for a Creaters of Peace. The participants had been invited from ten women’s groups in the area, with each group bringing two representatives and one other sent by the area Assistant Chief.

The government and people of Baringo County in Kenya continue to transform with Initiatives of Change at the heart of its transformation through the programmes, Creators of Peace and the Land and Security Dialogue.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the annual Peace Awards honors Africa and Diaspora Peace Heroes who have demonstrated a profound commitment to serve the community and promote peace in our society. This year’s honorees are Pastor James Wuye and Imam Muhammad Ashafa, of the Interfaith Mediation Center, Kaduna, Nigeria.

For Four days, representatives of 12 African countries embarked on a training and retreat in Ikoyi City, Lagos, Nigeria. The African Coordination Group led the process of skill deelopment based on a questionnaiire each Country filled to identify the geratest need in their teams..

In an area is characterized by cattle rustling entangled with conflicts and violence. Many of the participants had never heard of reflections or inner peace and that meant that they really took the practice very seriously.

The Creators of peace team,once more took time to train 20 more woman from parts of the Baringo County, Kenya despite travellling challenges

Creators of Peace team hopes to train 1000 women in Baringo County by the end of 2016 to be creators of peace in their lives and families. This follows the courageous and emotional apology by the Pokot women to the women of the other communities in Baringo County, Kenya, the Creators of Peace (CoP) team made a decision to put its effort and focus in 2016 on Baringo County. In November 2015, the “CoP Baringo Project” was launched in Kabarnet by Peace Ambassador, Mr. Kosgei.
